‘YOUR BODY, MY CHOICE’

what a disgusting stance on society. your own body is your choice, NO body else's yours and yours only. you cannot be forced and if ever someone is trying to you walk, no you run away. you deserve to be respected and cared for, not used and abused because that's what someone else wants .

it is terrifying to be a woman right now. it's never been easy or fun, being a woman is being a victim but being blamed, being told to smile but it's our fault if a guy takes that as flirting, told to go in groups but we still get followed. i don't know if in my lifetime ill ever feel safe enough to be a woman. getting the train alone scares me enough that somedays i don't want to leave my bed because i'm scared someone will do something.

a few months back, i caught someone taking photos of me on a train, and i was terrified. i didn't get the train for awhile and started bunking off my education from fear that i will be stalked and found again. i fear doing anything alone, i don't leave my house alone, i give everyone i trust my location just in case, i am terrified, all because of the gender i was born as.

i hate that with every woman i have met, our deepest emotional connection is within these lines, we say that something so miserable that has happened to our body without our choice, and every woman around goes ' me too'.

‘OF DEATH WHO GIVES LIFE’

this piece represents a hard time i went through. over 10 months ago i found out i was pregnant, i was flustered and unprepared, panicked and overwhelmed and murdered with the burden of having to take care of a life when i could barley care for my own.

how could i have a child? i'm in a horrible place, i don't have an income and i don't take care of myself. i cant be a mother, i've never even thought about actually having children, how could anyone do this ?

whether it was luck on my behalf & prays to god or fate, the baby wouldn't make it. it was near two months old when it passed, it was a painful and horrible process loosing this child. i lost 5st in weight total, couldn't eat due to nausea and still struggle with eating again after it all, i lost who i was .

i wonder who my baby would've been, what they would've become, how proud of a parent i'd be .. but i'll never know now. i'll never get to meet the life i made inside of myself.

whilst i can joke and laugh about the situation it's a deep wound that i'll forever carry with me, and i will never forget the pain of carrying that child, but i'll also never forget the care i would've given it, if they had made it.

i named them Levencya, it's the name of a town from the newest pokémon game spelt differently as that was around the time i actually got pregnant. Levencya will forever have an impact on me, but it's time i stopped wearing your birthstone as it's a constant reminder.

i've been wearing a necklace with your birthstone since just after i fully found out you were out of my body, you were due september, so i've got a blue sapphire for you, but it's time i hung this necklace up, and moved on.

this piece translates how i felt, being what felt like dead, a carcass, an uncared for body .. holding a life within myself, when i have none. due to holding this child for even just those two months i was constantly in hospital having appointments as this baby was causing issues in my body i still don't understand, i couldn't eat, sleep or do anything without constant pain and sickness.i'll never forget you Levencya
